Speaker Susanna Nygren Barrett

Originally from Canada, Susanna Nygren Barrett studied fine art and graphic design in Vancouver and later completed a Masters Program at Yale University in Switzerland where she studied under the graphic design legend Paul Rand and renowned Swiss designer Armin Hofmann. After working as a designer at multi-disciplinary design company Karo Design in Vancouver, she moved to New York City where she was a designer and creative lead for the design firm Liska + Associates. In 2000 she moved to Stockholm and became a partner and creative director at the design and branding firm BVD, leading creative teams to develop brand strategy and design for clients within identity, packaging and retail concepts. Currently Susanna is the creative director and co-founder of the Stockholm design firm, The Studio, leading strategic design and branding assignments for clients both locally and internationally. She is a guest lecturer and holds workshops at various design schools, has been recognized with numerous design awards as well as sat on the jury of local and international design
awards over the years. Coming from a creative family, Susanna has always been engaged in both music and art which provides continual inspiration for her work
